The Denver Broncos and John Elway Taking Win Now Approach With Free Agency
Most analyst said they expected the Denver Broncos to make the most moves during free agency this week. Those analyst were absolutely correct. The Broncos have made numerous moves from offensive to defensive. It looks as thought the Denver Broncos and John Elway are taking a win now approach as they have signed numerous players on a few year contract.
The biggest pick up for the Broncos so far is the addition of Ex-New England Patriot Wes Welker. The Broncos signed Welker to a 2 year $12 million deal. They are not looking at long term results with a 2 year contract. Especially with Peyton Manning's health at risk every time he takes a snap.
The Broncos also signed Corner Back Dominique Rogers-Cromartie to a one year $5 million deal. Also, not looking for anything long term just looking for immediate results. Rogers-Cromartie is a former first round pick (16th overall) and should fit in well with Del Rio's defense.
The Broncos have also signed Safety David Bruton, Defensive Tackels Kevin Vickerson and Terrance Knighton, Line Backer Stewart Bradley and Guard Louis Vasquez.
