If you don't think your cooking skills are up to fixing food for over 150 people, then think about sponsoring a dinner at Homeward Bound, the local shelter. They will do the cooking for you, and your group will help serve the meal to those in need.

You can "Sponsor" a dinner for only $25, and the sponsorship money will go into the kitchen fund to help pay for food items for future meals at the shelter. Groups only need to be four to six people to assist with the serving. If you have a larger group, your organization is welcome to cover on separate dates.

Meals for families start at 5:30 p.m. in the summer and volunteers need to be ready 15 minutes prior. They require that the sponsor fee be paid at least seven days in advance. You can pay with check, cash or card, and they will give you a receipt for your tax deductible donation.

Since they are operation a commercial kitchen, no one under the age of 12 is allowed in the kitchen, and those under the age of 18 are allowed with adult supervision. All volunteers must fill out a volunteer application prior to cooking or serving.

If you are interested in sponsoring a dinner, or just volunteering to serve meals, please contact Megan at 970-201-6116. You can also visit the Homeward Bound website or Facebook page for more information.
