Christmas Eve is snowed and snowed, bringing back memories for my mom of days when her mom (my Great Grandma Edie) used to make snow ice cream. Unfortunately she didn't remember the recipe, but I was able to track it down through our listeners to share with you!

Ingredients:

  • Bowl of Snow
  • Sugar
  • Condensed Milk
  • Vanilla

Directions:

  • Mix to taste

Yes it's really that easy, and fun for the whole family!

Michael Ruspil says, "Mac, If your older brother makes it and he offers you lemon flavor, DON'T EAT IT!!"
JoAnn Wacker says, "the heavier fat the cream the better. mom made it on Monday. I wouldn't trust it to eat1"
Kenny Brent said, "Cool! Now we can make it! My mom used to always say we had to wait for the 2nd snow of the season before it was safe to eat! ??? Of course we had pollution back then, but nothing like now. Up here where we live now, just fertilizer and pesticides! But, it's the 2nd snow, so we are gonna make some!"
And here's Lorraine Lamb's recipe. She says, "i am from the south. you get clean deep snow and fill a large bowl. in a smaller bowl you whip 2-3 raw eggs, add sugar about a cup or so, a tsp vanilla and about 1/4 cup milk or cream. pouring the mix over the snow in a fine stream, then mix good with a spoon. next you invite me over! if you worry about salmonella dip raw eggs in boiling water first. i never have and have never gotten ill."
As always I am not a chef and cannot be responsible for the results of these recipes.
