What do the television shows Star Trek and Night Court have in common? Lots and lots. Check out "Six Degrees of Separation Between Star Trek and Night Court."

Brent Spiner, who played Mr. Data on Star Trek: The Next Generation, made several appearances on Night Court, along with series star John Larroquette.

Many don't realize that years earlier, Larroquette appeared in Star Trek III: The Search For Spock. Larroquette is Klingon officer Maltz, the guy who keeps calling out distances.

John Laroquette starred in an episode of Night Court which featured guest star Teri Hatcher.

Hatcher make a guest appearance as transporter technician Lt. Robinson on an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, called "The Outrageous Okona."

The character of Captain Okona in the episode "The Outrageous Okona" was played by William Campbell, an actor who had been considered for the role of Commander Riker. Of course, the role of Riker was ultimately filled by Johathan Frakes.

Johnathan Frakes directed two of the Star Trek feature films, Star Trek: First Contact, and Star Trek: Insurrection. The only other cast member in Star Trek history to direct two films in the franchise was Leonard Nimoy, with Star Trek III: The Search For Spock, featuring Night Court actor John Larroquette, and Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.

Leonard Nimoy would appear in an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation entitled "Reunification," along side Brent Spiner, who as you may recall, also appeared several times on Night Court.

There you have it. To be blunt, I kind of lost count. I don't know if that is four, five, six, or how many degrees of separation between Star Trek and Night Court. Who would have guessed?
