As hot as it gets here in Grand Junction, we should seriously look at this issue.

It is now a law in Tennessee, California, Florida, Wisconsin, Michigan and Massachusetts. What about Colorado?

It takes only minutes for the interior of a car to become dangerously HOT.

“When temperatures outside range from 80 degrees to 100 degrees, the temperature inside a car parked in direct sunlight can quickly climb to between 130 to 172.”

A handful of states have adopted some sort of law or statutes stating, within reason, citizens can take it upon themselves to help and rescue pets from inside an enclosed vehicle when the temperature is soaring to a dangerous level.

With the summers we have here in Mesa County, I believe we should act on this. We have all seen pets locked up in hot vehicles for who knows HOW long? It would be nice to know that you and I could do something to help, without thinking that we are going to get sued for simply saving YOUR pets life.
