Road clean up continues on Highway 145 as crews continue to work to get the highway open. Officials estimate one of the boulders weighed about 8.5 million pounds and another weighed 2.5 million pounds. The boulder was part of a huge rockslide that decimated part of a highway on highway 145 on Friday.

You can't stop mother nature the rock the size of a building was right in the middle of the highway.  The southwest Colorado city of Ouray issued a travel alert Friday warning drivers of the hazards.

Crew blasted the 2.5 million pound rock with explosives and are still trying to open the highway.

The road is still closed but there are alternate routes to take:

US 550 Montrose to Ridgway

• US 550 Ridgway to Ouray/Silverton

• US 550 Silverton to Durango
