Even though the weather Saturday was more winter-like, Powderhorn Mountain Resort celebrated it's annual Fall Color Weekend.

It may not have been ideal conditions, but Color Weekend was still fun and quite amazing to look at. Especially from the Flat Top Flier. Enjoy the photos.

I had been looking forward to heading up to Powderhorn, for at least a couple of weeks. Color Weekend 2016 was shaping up to be a beautiful experience. If the weather, weekend before Color Fest, was any indication we were all in for a treat. Mid 90's and not a cloud in the sky.

Well, of course, we all know what happened. The weather Gods laughed at us and said 'here ya go Mesa County.' Clouds, a cold wind, rain and temperature 20 degrees colder than normal. Had to find a jacket and gloves! I thought I was back in Wisconsin.

But, decided to make the trip anyway and even though it was a bit chilly, the ski hill looked amazing and the small crowd that followed my lead was fun although few.

So, climb aboard the Flat Top Flier with me and let's take a ride and down the lift.

Yes, that is snow on the ski hill. In September.
