Three words you either love to hear or dread to speak. BACK TO SCHOOL!

As the students cry, the parents cheer! It is that time of year again. Mesa County Valley is back in session August 3.

Moving to a new town and changing schools during the summer is never easy. For any of you that had to do that, you know what it's like. Honestly, the year I switched schools was the only year I did not look forward to school starting. I didn't know anyone! It was my 6th-grade year and I was the new kid. But, what happened was strange, our teacher Mrs. Bronson asked about the new student and somehow two of my new classmates, Sheila, and Wendy knew my name and pointed me out.

Since then, those classmates have become lifelong friends and we still stay in touch to this day.

It is true, these school years are some of the best you can have. Enjoy the time, try new things, go out for a sport, sign up for a club or an organization, ask that guy or girl to the dance, take advantage of all of those great opportunities.

AND do your homework!

For the kids, what is the one thing you look forward to the most about returning?

Or for the adults, what was the one thing you looked forward to?
