Lorne O'Neil, the man who for a number of years laid down the foundation as the bassist for Country superstar Neal McCoy, passed away on Friday.

Western Colorado had the privilege of hosting Neal McCoy and his group a number of times over the last 20 years. For most of those years, it was Lorne O'Neil who performed on bass.

According to Les Martines, road manager for Neal McCoy for the last 23 years, "We lost a really great guy today. Rest in peace Lorne O'Neil. Great musician and one who could always make you laugh."
