Once again, the members of the mighty Desert Flyer Band strayed from the formula and sampled something on the fringe, and once again, they paid the price. Jim Beam's "Honey" resulted in the most catastrophic "Booze in Review" to date.

As part of their weekly adult beverage sampling ritual, the Desert Flyer Band is at times tempted to sample choices outside the mainstream. Historically, these excursions have resulted in unsatisfying, unfavorable reviews. Jim Beam's "Honey" is no exception.

The makers of Jim Beam "Honey" take their legendary bourbon and infuse it with genuine honey and liqueurs. According to the maker, the result is "a smooth new chapter in the Jim Beam legend with complex notes of caramel, oak and vanilla and the rich finish of sweet honey."

As far as the members of the Desert Flyer Band are concerned, the result is honey, period. Honey, honey, honey. Ultimately, the beverage is so sweet is virtually undrinkable. The band did discover that "Honey" mixed with Old Grand-Dad, a beverage that received high marks in their last review,  results in a fairly enjoyable cocktail.

This is the kind of drink you give to a chick at the bar and hope she drinks enough you can get her to go home with you and let her in you pants." - Bob Sours   Vocals / Rhythm Guitar

"If mixed with 'Old Grand-Dad' it kind of works, but aside from that, completely undrinkable."              - Greg Achord   Lead Vocals / Lead Guitar

"Barf"-  Waylon Jordan   Bass
