Hazardous Road Conditions Make Grand Junction Commute NIGHTMARISH

Grand Junction Police are warning about icy and slick conditions across the Western Slope!

According to the Media Council Facebook Page:

Drivers need to be extra careful when heading out on the roads today, both in the City and on the roads leading out of town.

The 5th St. bridge is closed in both directions at this time (7:00am) due to icy conditions and multiple crashes. Drivers  should be extra cautious when driving on bridges because they tend to become icy before the roads do.

I70 through Debeque Canyon has also been the scene of several vehicle crashes this morning due to ice and slick conditions.

Fog has also settled into parts of the county, causing limited visibility in areas.

Remember to use caution when getting out of your house today!
