Happy Birthday Captain Janeway

Today marks the birth date of our heroic Captain Kathryn Janeway, or to be more accurate, what will be her birthday, in another 318 years. Surprise! Happy pre-birthday!

We aren't talking about Kate Mulgrew, the actress who plays Janeway. Her birthday was last month. We're talking about THE Captain Janeway. She will be born on May 20th, 2331, in Bloomington, Indiana. Why is it that Starflleet captains always seem to come from agricultural states? Kirk was from Iowa, Picard was from wine country.

Janeway will ultimately go on to become captain of the starship Voyager, manage to get lost for seven years, get engaged and unengaged at least once, and ultimately reach the rank of Vice Admiral (spoiler alert.) Perhaps her greatest achievement will be winning 99.9 KEKB's online poll for being the hottest woman in space. That she accomplished 300 years before she was even born. It is one of those "time continuum" things we never understood about Star Trek.

Birthday cards and letters may be sent to Janeway via the nearest temporal vortex, with an estimated delivery date of somewhere in the mid to late 24th century.
