Grand Junction Artists Raise Funds for Music Scholarship To CMU [VIDEO]
The Robert "Bob" Grant Memorial Scholarship hosted a concert Thursday night featuring seven local artists performing the music of a world famous French composer. When the evening was done, the audience had enjoyed an opportunity to hear truly remarkable music performed by some of their favorite local musicians, while raising funds for a music scholarship to Colorado Mesa University.
Local artists Dr. Arthur Houle, Shelly Warren, Amy Markakis, Javier De Los Santon, Dr. Darin Kamstra, Rob Labig, and KEKB's Waylon Jordan, teamed together to perform two selections from Claude Bolling.
First, the audience enjoyed the complete Claude Bolling Suite for Flute and Piano, followed by all seven movements of his Concerto for Classical Guitar and Jazz Piano.
The two-hour program generated funds for the Robert "Bob" Grant Memorial Scholarship, a music scholarship for string students at Colorado Mesa University.
