Ah, the "sport of kings".... really weird kings. Wiener Dog races are coming to Oktoberfest in Grand Junction, and here are some helpful training tips on how NOT to compete.

There does exist a race for dogs that are truly "organized" and capable of obtaining great speed - it's called a Greyhound race. The very nature of Wiener Dog racing is that of utter chaos. That's why they are fun.

It seems a bit odd that Wiener Dog racing is associated with Oktoberfest, since the sport originated in Australia back in the 1970's. The activity became popular in North America in the early 1990's, thanks to a beer commercial.
