The Grand Junction Fire Department is triumphant in their battle with the Grand Junction Police Department after a recent blood drive.

According to KJCT8.com, with over 200 pints of blood donated in their honor, the Grand Junction Fire Department came out the winner in the "Heroes Behind the Badge" blood drive.

Western Colorado residents were asked to donate blood during the week of March 23 - 29, and then choose their champions, the Grand Junction Police Department or Fire Department. The organization receiving the most blood donations would be named the victor.

The winner in this competition received a trophy and a donation to the charity of their choice. The Grand Junction Fire Department chose to donate the $250 award to "Delaney Donates," a local organization supporting those battling cancer.
