The Best of Beyond Boundaries: A Retrospective Dance Concert

Beyond Boundaries Dance will present a retrospective evening of contemporary dances on Saturday, June 14th. The concert will take place in Colorado Mesa University's Robinson Theatre at 7:30 pm in conjunction with CMU's third annual Dance Intensive.

The dance company, which includes dancers and teachers from the community as well as CMU faculty, will entertain the audience with some of its best work since its first concert in 2006.

Local choreographers reviving their work include Rebecca Fleishman, Julie Sinnott, Ann Sanders, Connie Monroe, Theresa Kahl, and Melonie Buchanan Murray. In addition, the work of guest choreographers Lynda White, Denver; Erin Rehberg, Core Project Chicago; Juliet Forrest, Goucher College in Maryland; and Janet Descutner, formerly of the University of Oregon will be re-set. Many of the pieces will feature the original casts dancing, including DeeAnna Christensen, Emily Kampf, Natasha Krasnow, Vickie Hernandez and Laura Bradley. New cast members and a fresh look at each piece will add new dimension to audience favorites.

Beyond Boundaries Dance seeks to provide creative opportunities for local choreographers and dancers of all ages, across generations. Embracing a variety of dance genres, Beyond Boundaries creates an avenue for artistic expression which touches, moves and inspires others through its passion for dance. Beyond Boundaries is committed to giving performances for the public which promote dance works of artistic merit and quality. Beyond Boundaries is also committed to education by offering student dancers support and artistic opportunities.
