Percussion Festival offers master classes and two concerts
Colorado Mesa University’s 8th annual Western Colorado Percussion Festival
will take place on November 1st and 2nd, featuring clinics, master classes and
performances by nationally recognized percussion artists and regional talent.
Events include:
● Guest Artist Dave Hagedorn, vibraphone, in a recital at 7:30 pm on Friday
evening with the CMU Faculty Jazz Quartet in the Moss Recital Hall ($15 adults,
$10 seniors, $6 students).
● Honor Percussion Ensemble Rehearsals open to select students.
● Clinics and Master classes with guest artists Martin Zyskowski and Dave
Hagedorn
● Free Final Concert at 4:00 pm on Saturday afternoon in the Moss Recital
Hall open to the public featuring CMU Percussion Ensemble, Educators Percussion
Ensemble and Honors Percussion Ensemble.
Dave Hagedorn directs the jazz bands and percussion ensemble at St. Olaf
College and is an active and eclectic performer in the Twin Cities area. Martin
Zyskowski is currently principal timpani of the Northwest Bach Festival
Orchestra, percussionist with the Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre and principal
timpani of the Spokane Symphony Orchestra.
