CMU Oboe Faculty Mary Lindsey Bailey to present solo recital

On Friday, November 8th at 7:30 pm, Mary Lindsey Bailey will present a solo
recital of oboe music with Dr. Andrea Arese-Elias on piano in the Moss
Performing Arts Center Recital Hall. She will play music by composers such as
Antonio Vivaldi and Benjamin Britten. 2013 is the centennial of Britten’s
birth. Bailey will also collaborate with Dr. Stephen Page, saxophone, on a piece
titled “Brokenvention” by Alyssa Morris.

Bailey is Lecturer of Oboe at Colorado Mesa University and is Principal Oboe of
the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra. She formerly served as Principal Oboe of
the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra in Shenzhen, China, and as Co-Principal Oboe of
the Long Bay Symphony Orchestra in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She has also
performed with the Louisville Orchestra, Charleston Symphony Orchestra,
Cincinnati Baroque Orchestra, and South Carolina Philharmonic. Dr. Bailey holds
a Bachelor of Music degree and performance certificate from the University of
South Carolina and a Masters of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the
University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
