Do You Collect Antlers? Know The Rules

It is fun finding Antlers and Horns but make sure it is legal before you do it. According to the Colorado Parks And Wildlife, they changed the dates on when you can go searching for shed Antler and/or Horns.

First of all, it is illegal to hunt for shed antlers on all public lands Jan 1 through April 30. Starting May 1st you can head out searching, however you are hunting before then and you are caught with antlers you could face a big fine. The reason for the change is to reduce stress on the big game as they will be feeding however as the snow melts they will move to higher ground and you won't be infringing on them. Antlers go for big bucks as people use them for all kinds of artwork.
