Summer is right around the corner and Colorado will be craving the ice cream served at some of our favorite restaurants and sweet shops. In Grand Junction, we're all counting down to peach ice cream at Graff Dairy.

The folks at 247WallSt.com are looking at ice cream preferences nationwide and have come up with a list of "least favorite" ice cream brands Americans should avoid. The top 3 brands to avoid are all sold in abundance in Colorado. Let's see what these brands are below.

What's Wrong With 247WallSt.com?

247WallSt.com might be the grumpiest website online when trying to tell you what people like and what they don't like. I'm all ears when it comes to investments, the outsourcing of jobs, cities with the hottest housing markets, or how the stock market performs under different leadership. However, when it comes to food, snacks, chain restaurants, and ice cream, these guys don't like much. Get ready to spot one of your favorites.

Ice Cream Brands To Avoid?

247WallSt.com recently included 11 brands on their watch list of ice cream to avoid this summer. They compare dairy vs non-dairy treats, and USDA ice cream standards, and identify brands that may contain ingredients you want to avoid. The top 3 ice cream brands to avoid include Baskin-Robins, Breyers, and Turkey Hill.

#3 Baskin-Robins Ice Cream

Oh, wow! Baskin-Robbins. A brand we've enjoyed most of our lives. What a shock that 247WallSt.com says it's the third-worst brand overall. Critics point to questionable ingredients like diglycerides, cellulose gum, guar gum, and carrageenan. 247WallSt.com says this ice cream usually has traces of freezer burn on it, which is gross....at first. This ranking won't keep me from enjoying Baskin and Robbins.

#2 Beryers Ice Cream

24/7 Wall St.com includes Breyers as a brand to avoid because they claim it can't be called ice cream because it lacks the creamy fat content that makes ice cream ice cream. The label says milk and cream, yet it's a frozen dairy treat. I'll still use it to make a homemade milkshake regardless.

America's Worst Ice Cream Brand

Ok, I'll give them this one. 24/7 Wall St says that Turkey Hill ice cream is the #1 brand to avoid when selecting a frozen treat. They point to the ingredient list which includes cellulose gum, cellulose gel, and carrageenan, making this a low-quality treat.
