Over the weekend, Colorado State Troopers uncover heroin and crystal meth during a traffic stop on I-70 outside of Grand Junction.

In case you missed it, what started as a routine traffic stop Friday, turned into a pretty substantial drug bust. Colorado State Troopers came upon a Chevy SUV traveling east on I-70 near Fruita. The vehicle, which had California plates, was observed following too close and also an officer stated that the passengers were "acting nervous."

After being stopped, the two people in the SUV, Jose Ivan Torres and wife Sylvia Torres agreed to let troopers search the vehicle.

Now, you know that the officers are going to find your stash, no matter how well you might think you have hidden it. And they did.

It turns out that officers were able to find one and a half pounds of heroin and eight pounds of crystal meth methamphetamine. The heroin was located inside specially made compartments while the meth was hidden inside of a children's car seat.

The scariest thing is that the drugs were being transported into Mesa County.

The two were arrested and are now being held at the Mesa County jail.
