Colorado Man Admits to Stealing Over $1 Million in Cars
This seems like the entire incident would only occur in a movie. Yet this happened right here in the state of Colorado. A man from Colorado Springs has been arrested after he admitted to stealing more than $1 million in luxury cars from dealerships in Colorado over the span of two weeks.
Colorado Springs Police responded to a call of a suspicious person at a Porsche dealership in the area of Motor City on Wednesday. The man has been identified as Kyle Daughtery after he was attempting to purchase a Porsche valued at more than $100,000 with a forged check.
The suspect came to the Porsche dealership in a 2021 Aston Martin that has been valued at more than $200,000. The Aston Martin was deemed a stolen vehicle after investigation. The investigation also revealed an additional three stolen cars that were acquired by fraudulent means.
Kyle Daughtery, 29, admitted to police in an interview that he stole numerous high-end cars from Colorado dealerships over the course of two weeks. Daughtery had numerous outstanding warrants in Colorado that included warrants for identity theft in Broomfield County and Greenwood Village. A warrant was also outstanding for motor vehicle theft in the city of Littleton.
