Walmart Recalls A Popular Snack in 30 States

In a notice published by the Food and Drug Administration, distributor John B Sanfilippo & Son, Inc. issued a voluntary recall for 8.5 oz cans of Great Value Honey Roasted Cashews that feature the blue label. The popular snack is sold at Walmart stores throughout Colorado. These snacks include the stamp, "Best if used by Jul 08 2025 GH2," and the UPC 078742133348.

What's the Big Deal?

According to CBSnews.com, the recall is a result of a labeling error. The suspect cans of Great Value Honey Roasted Cashews contain coconut cashews instead. Coloradans with a coconut or milk allergy know this must be taken seriously. People with severe cases of coconut allergy can suffer anaphylaxis which requires immediate medical care. Just imagine the lawsuits.

Toss Em Or Bring Em Back

If you discover you have this product at home the distributor asks you not to eat them. They should be discarded. If you purchased them at your local Walmart, you can return them for a full refund.
