This is what the Fourth of July weekend should be about.

Macy Coulter just wanted to spend her birthday helping others.

It's the thought that counts, right? Isn't that what people say? Well, in this case, a 12-year-old from Clifton thought she wanted to make a difference, ever so small.

The complete story is at KKCO News with reporter Carly Moore. Macy set up a lemonade stand in Clifton at Murdocks. Her goal was to help raise money for local veterans. It really wasn't a true lemonade stand because she wasn't selling anything. The stand was offering FREE glasses of either pink or regular lemonade. Macy was asking for donations.

The money raised is going to help support an event at the Veterans Art Center coming up on Veterans Day.

But, don't worry if you didn't get a chance to contribute, Macy will put her stand back up at the Harley Store coming up in August.
