It took two games to complete the job Sunday at Suplizio Field, but the Colorado Mesa University’s baseball team pulled it out by defeating Texas A&M-Kingsville to win the NCAA South Central Regional Tournament and earning a trip to the NCAA Division II World Series.

At halftime of Saturday's Mavericks' game at Brownson Arena, Tom Spicer was introduced as the new athletic director at Colorado Mesa  University. On Tuesday, Colorado School of Mines announced that Spicer  had resigned his position with the school to take the job in Grand Junction.
