Folks have created communities on Facebook to organize Rallies and Meetings to protest the BLM's proposals. Including Brandon Siegfried the rally organizer who has changed his profile pic to the above photo in order to spread the word.

Hundreds of residents have shared their opinions with BLM about their land use plan, which according to the KKCO website:

is currently being revised; something they do every 20 to 30 years to keep up with use, population and traffic.

Their are currently four different plans with numerous closures that residents feel take away much of our access to local outdoor areas!

The BLM wants your feedback before they finalize their plan and has extended the comment period until June 24th along with a community meeting April 6th from 4 to 6p at Two River's Convention Center.

Siegfried says,

Garfield County Commissioners are meeting with their concerned residents on March 20th, to identify which routes they want the County to protect from the Grand Junction BLM DRMP.  The area from Douglas Pass to Debeque is all in Garfield County. This is what I envisioned for Mesa County Commissioners and the Mesa County residents, working together to protect our access.  However, at this point all we have heard from our Respected Mesa County Commissioners is they asked to extend the comment period and we should get our comments in to the BLM. We appreciate the comment extension request but its not enough to just “submit a comment” into a BLM System that is designed around attaining mass closures.  Comments are great but Garfield County Commissioners know that there are no guarantees, thats why they are performing road research to establish Public Rights of Ways (RS 2477, other) and any other layer of protection they can establish to prevent a road closure.

He has collected over 300 signatures on his own, hoping to get 3,000 so that the Commissioners will start to listen. What they want is to see a County RS 2477 Resolution, Road Research, and RS 2477 Claims on our motorized routes built prior to 1976 & proactive steps to protect our economy and heritage in Western Colorado.
