I am going to go through my pennies and see if I have a 1943 penny. If I find one I could be a rich woman. Why is the 1943 penny than other pennies? The difference with this penny is it is made out of copper. In 1943 during world war ll we needed all the copper we could get for the war, so we used zinc-coated steel for the pennies. However, some pennies were made out of copper they slipped through the cracks and these are the ones that are going for big bucks.

Copper was used to make bullets and wire and that is why the scarcity in that time period, .like I said some of the pennies were made with copper and they are very valuable.

If you have money to spend and want to bid on this penny the auction continues through January 14th.
