Yes, It’s Time to Make Summer Camping Reservations
Not many folks are thinking about camping in early January, but if you have intentions of summer outings, now is the time to make your reservations.
A total of 15 Colorado state parks, including Highline Lake, have converted to a reservation-only system, which means you can reserve a campsite any time up to six months from your date of arrival.
Five state parks tested the reservation system in 2018 with good results, and the program has now been expanded.
The state parks that are part of the reservation program are Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area, Boyd Lake, Cherry Creek, Golden Gate Canyon, Highline Lake, Jackson Lake, John Martin Reservoir, Lathrop, Mueller, North Sterling, Pearl Lake, Ridgway, State Forest, Steamboat Lake, Yampa River.
If you want to be sure and get your favorite camping spot, it's a good idea to make that reservation as soon as possible.
