Growing up my father always told me "If you're going to do something, do it right the first time." I have noticed in my adult life that this is absolutely true. If you don't do it right the first time, you will have to go back and do it again, which takes way longer. There are certain things I've noticed lately that you must do right the first time. What are some things you think need to be done right the first time?

Since I have been working on my new house, it has become very obvious there are a lot of things you must do right the first time. Painting is one of those things I have learned to do right the first time. If you try to just slap on a coat of paint as quick as possible, it dries wierd and leaves spots, so you will have to go back and do it again.

With any construction job, you will learn do things right the first time. Like tearing out Base Board. If you tear it up and throw it around the room and don't take the nails out, you will have to go back, clean up your mess and go around taking all the nails out. Wasting a whole lot of time.

Even something as simple as mowing the lawn needs to be done right the first time. If you miss spots or breeze over the lawn, you will have to go back and cut the spots you missed. Once again, it takes more time out of your day to do a simple project.

So I encourage you to listen to me as I did my father, and take your time and do it right the first time. Like the saying goes "Work smart not hard." What are some things you have noticed that must be done right the first time?
