Woman Flees To Colorado After Beating Daughter, Boiling Puppies
A 53-year-old New Mexico mother was allegedly on the run in Colorado after authorities started investigating her for abusing her child and animals.
The Coloradoan reported she had fled to Durango.
The charges come from a complaint from one of the couples 15 children. The child complained of child abuse, neglect, and animal abuse. The investigation found that the children didn't go to school, didn't get enough food and the family would pack up and run at a moments notice if anyone from child protective services began investigating.
The charges state that the mother shot the family dog, boiled puppies on the stove with children present, and beat her daughter with a kitchen tool.
The father is also accused of obstructing an investigation. Both suspects are in custody at the San Juan County Adult Detention Center.
