Missing Woman Rescued After Spending Night in Palisade Irrigation Ditch

A woman reported missing on Tuesday afternoon was found late this morning (September 2) trapped in her car in an irrigation ditch in Palisade.

According to reports, the woman was alive and alert when railroad workers discovered the partially submerged car in the ditch around 11:00 a.m.

Police estimate the woman crashed the car into the ditch sometime Tuesday night. The position of the car in the ditch made it difficult for anyone to see the vehicle from the road.

The driver of the car appeared uninjured, but was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
