U.S Senator Cory Gardner attended a roundtable on Monday to talk about the high suicide rate in Mesa County. Those attending were officials from Mesa School District 51, Mesa County Sheriff Matt Lewis, Mind Springs Health and Mesa County Department of Health.

Officials think that if all of the Departments could share information more freely then the suicide rate could possibly be reduced and hopefully save lives.

Colorado State is in the top ten as far as Suicides go in the United States, Mesa County has the highest suicide rate among teens followed by, El Paso, La Plata, and Pueblo counties. That according to a recent study.

According to the Mesa County Health Department some signs to watch out for Look for, mood swings, hopelessness, someone saying they want to die, a change in sleeping habits.
