A major renovation is underway at the old Salvation Army Thrift Store building at 10th and Ute in Grand Junction. Who's moving in?

Do you know the large blue building at 1038 Ute Avenue? It's the property on the corner surrounded with chain link fence. Not long ago, if you were making donations to the Salvation Army, this is where they would have you drop them off. Well, before long, new residents will be moving in.

I stopped in today and took a walk around. Crews are hard at work framing and hanging drywall. This appears to be a major remodel.

Please welcome Discount Cabinet Warehouse to 1038 Ute Avenue. I spoke with the owner briefly, and he mentioned they would be open for business in about six weeks.

Does the name sound familiar? It should. Discount Cabinet Warehouse has been in business in Grand Junction for some time. They are currently operating at 2495 Industrial Blvd. According to the owner, when the new building is ready, the business will move to the new location.

Who exactly is Discount Cabinet Warehouse? According to their webpage:

We're just local people trying to make a living by providing the residents of Western Colorado and Eastern Utah with quality cabinets at GREAT PRICES! There's no fancy showroom, high priced displays and numerous employees. There's no large corporate bureaucracy that adds to the cost of our products and often times prolongs the time it takes to order and receive your cabinets. We keep our overheads low. We strive to provide our customers with excellent customer service. We do our best to maintain the prices possible on great products.

I searched through the webpage and really enjoyed the cabinetry options available. Judging by the webpage, it seems they offer a wide variety of styles, materials, and woods, at price ranges to suit anyone.

I'm looking forward to seeing this location back in action. It's conveniently located, with ample parking. Help make them welcome when they reopen at the new location in mid-June.
