Whereas just a few years ago most people had never heard of a "Take N' Bake" pizza franchise, it now seems you can't turn a corner without running into one. Of the several "Take N Bake" joints in Grand Junction, which one is the best?

Not that long ago, if you wanted to make a pizza at home, you were faced with three options:

  • Buy a frozen pizza (for which there were only Tony's,Totino's Party Pizza, and ultimately Tombstone.
  • Buy these "make it yourself" kits that came in a cardboard box and tasted like Hell.
  • Make it yourself from scratch.

Looking back on the 1970's, frozen pizzas were few and far between, not to mention quite nasty. Real troopers would build theirs from scratch.

Nowadays, Take N' Bake joints abound, guaranteeing the consumer a custom pizza with fresh, quality ingredients, prepared right before their very eyes. The crust is of superior quality, and the toppings, for the most part, have never seen the inside of a freezer.

In addition to Take N Bake franchises, many grocery chains have jumped on board. Your friendly neighborhood grocery stores have taken their own spin on fresh, cook-it-at-your-convenience pies. The results here vary drastically. Some in-store-deli pizzas are good, others border on catastrophic failures. Not long ago, I purchased such a pizza. This thing was nothing more than a loaf of bread with ketchup smeared on it, accompanied by a cheese-like substance.

Taking into account the full spectrum of "Take N Bake" pizzas on the market, who would you say makes the best. Let's not limit this to franchises. Grocery store deli pizzas, Super Walmart, whatever... they're all fair game.
