Where Will You Find Western Colorado’s Best Margarita?
February 22 is National Margarita Day. When suffering an insatiable thirst for a Margarita, where is the best place to go in Western Colorado?
Whether it be a frozen Margarita, on the rocks, or even one of the infinite "foo foo" flavors, where can one find the best?
Traveling back in time, oh, let's say about 25 years, one could find an absolutely wicked blended Margarita at the old J.J.'s Lounge on 30 Road and the I-70 B in Grand Junction. I can't quite remember the bartender's name, but let me tell you, he was a virtuoso.
Have you ever enjoyed a Margarita so good not even a Pterodactyl attack would make you give it up. Check out the "Margarita Hero" in this scene. By the way, do you know who that is?
Years ago, I used to play a combination bar/strip club/porn shop/gas station in Yuma, Arizona, which served something like 30 varieties of Margarita. In this case, the drinks were served from what closely resembled a Slurpee machine. Personally, I prefer they be made one at a time utilizing the good ol' fashioned blender. Word on the street is bartenders have no problem making each drink by hand. Ultimately, the tips are better.
When it is all said and done, blended, on the rock, foo foo, whatever floats your boat, where will you find Western Colorado's best Margarita? Cast your vote! In the event you don't see your favorite Western Colorado location, write it in, and we'll add it to the list. For the sake of efficiency, let us please refrain from adding "My house" or "My friend's back yard" to the list.
Oh, by the way, that was Jimmy Buffet running to the rescue to save his Margaritas in the video.
