The little drive thru location on the corner of 12th and North Avenue in Grand Junction will soon be home to a new business. Who's moving in?

In past years, the location at 1122 North 12th Street has been home to Taco John's and Chomps. Before long it will be home to another food venue.

Will it be another Taco joint? The CMU students would love that, wouldn't they? Some students from the 1990s and early 2000s were oblivious to the existence of food options other than Taco John's. They loved it. Unfortunately, the tax man didn't love the place, and it went away.

Enter Chomps. Students loved it, too. Unfortunately, it too ended up closing its doors. So, what's next?

Following a Q&A session with crews working on the building, it has been learned the building will soon be home to Gelu Italian Ice. That sounds cool! The intersection is loaded with fast food and pizza joints. Perhaps a business offering real fruit frozen confections is just what the doctor ordered.

When will it open? Sorry, that info is unknown at this time.

Look out 12th and North Avenue, delicious real fruit frozen treats are on the way. You can't keep a good man down, and this location is a champ. Before you know it, another food option will available. They'll be open soon, so please pay them a visit and make them feel welcome.
