What Kind of Night Can Grand Junction Expect on Halloween?
Are you ready to go trick-or-treating? Are you going to freeze? What kind of weather can Western Colorado expect Halloween night?
The good news is Western Colorado won't look like the photo at top. Just be thankful this isn't Denver. They're in for a rough one on Halloween. According to KOAA News 5 -
Rain and snow will start falling up in Denver on Tuesday and slowly push south and out of the state through Wednesday morning. Rain will start falling first over Monument Hill around 2 pm and quickly transition to snow by 4 pm.
Western Colorado, on the other hand, shows little chance of rain or snow. According to the National Weather Service, the next three days look like this.
There's nothing wrong with "mostly cloudy" on a Halloween night. What about the moon? According to timeanddate.com, we can expect a third-quarter moon. What exactly does that mean?
The Third Quarter Moon is when the opposite half of the Moon is illuminated compared to the First Quarter. Which half you see lit up depends on where you are on Earth. - Timeanddate.com
Okay, so Western Colorado will be mostly cloudy, with one-half of a moon, and a low near freezing. What does this tell us?
- Dress warmly
- Bring a flashlight
Aside from that, it looks like this will be just like any other Halloween in Western Colorado. It could be worse. How would you like to snowshoe your way through the neighborhood trick-or-treating? Please have a good time and a very happy Halloween. Stay warm and stay safe.
