This weekend looks like it will be beautiful, sunshine expected all weekend, with Saturday being the nicest day with temperatures into the mid-80s. That means you can enjoy yourself on Saturday and volunteer on Sunday. You should get up early and join in on the fun that Special Olympics Colorado will be having with the 2021 Western Regional Track and Field Events will be going on and they are in need of volunteers.

The 2021 Western Regional Track & Field Volunteer Registration is set for Sunday, May 2nd, 2021 at 7:00 a.m. taking place at Stocker Stadium in Grand Junction located at 998 North 12th Street. This will be the 49th annual event.

Things to Know Before Volunteering on Sunday to Help Special Olympics of Colorado

Due to restrictions with capacity all volunteers who sign up to help will need to work the entire shift from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Your responsibilities will be assigned on the day of the event. Special Olympics Colorado will provide lunch and water for all volunteers, but you’re welcome to bring other snacks or a water bottle if you would like. Remember the event will be outdoors so sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are all suggested. All volunteers will receive a t-shirt which is recommended to be worn as the outer layer of clothing on race day.
