Village Inn Files for Bankruptcy, Closes Colorado Locations

American Blue Ribbon Holdings, the parent company of Village Inn, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, causing several locations in Colorado to close.

None of the locations announced are in the Grand Junction area, but the Front Range lost several locations.

The Denver area locations closed are:

• 921 S. Havana St., Aurora
• 12622 W. Ken Caryl Ave., Littleton
• 1190 E. First Ave., Broomfield
• 4775 Kipling St., Wheat Ridge
• 5790 S. Carefree Circle, Colorado Springs
• 315 N E Colorado 105, Monument
• 207 W. Wolfensberger Road, Castle Rock
• 1216 S. Hover St., Longmont

The company announced 33 locations are closing nationwide due to several factors including underperforming for several years and will affect 1,100 people nationwide. Two of those locations, Colorado Springs and Longmont, closed last year.

This follows a recent trend of stores closing in Colorado including Pier 1, Lucky's Market, and Bar Louie, a restaurant chain.

Reasons for closing, according to the company were decreasing foot traffic, high labor costs, and a number of restaurants becoming less and less profitable.

The company has not announced plans to close any of the local restaurants.
