A tragic plane crash has claimed the lives of a newly married couple near Telluride.

According to the San Miguel  County Sheriff, a privately owned Beechcraft Bonanza aircraft went down around 1:00pm Monday afternoon in Ingram Basin, east of Telluride, a few minutes after takeoff from the Telluride Airport. Shortly after 5:00pm, authorities reported there were no survivors, and recovery efforts commenced.

The couple, 30-year-old Costas John Sivyllis and 33-year-old Lindsey Vogelaar, both of Port Orange, Florida, had eloped to Telluride for a small wedding on October 1. Reports indicate they had a small wedding and were documenting their "adventure-filled" honeymoon for friends and family to follow. According to the SMCS, they both worked in the airline industry, and Sivyllis was a United Airlines pilot and flight instructor. Apparently, they were headed back to Florida when the crash occurred.

The cause of the crash has not been determined and the National Safety Transportation Board is conducting an investigation and will issue a final report.
