Three Dog Night has been making great music for a long time so it's a fair question to ask, "who's still in the band?"

For starters, I can tell you if you saw Three Dog Night in Grand Junction about 14 years ago, four of those band members are still with the band, including original members Danny Hutton and guitarist Michael Allsup. You're also going to see vocalists Paul Kingery, who has pretty much been with the band for over 30 years and drummer Pat Bautz who has been with Three Dog Night since 1993.

Sadly, we lost long-time keyboardist Jimmy Greenspoon who passed away in 2015, and about six months later we said goodbye to founding member, Cory Wells.

Additions to the band include former The Association member David Morgan who replaced Wells in 2015. Keyboardist Howard Laravea, formerly with Frankie Valli and the Four Season joined the line up a couple of years ago.

Yes, the Three Dog Night cast has a different look than it did in their heyday in the early to mid-70s. There's no question about that. So, is it possible for us to enjoy Three Dog Night even half as much as we did the last time they were in Grand Junction?

In all honesty, I'm pretty optimistic that the current Three Dog Night lineup will put on a fantastic concert. You've got top-notch musicians performing all of the great Three Dog Night songs like Joy to the World, An Old Fashioned Love Song, One and many more. Plus, you have four of these guys who have been doing it together for over 25 years.

When I saw Three Dog Night at the Avalon years ago, I was blown away. I saw them a few years later in Denver and they were still amazing. I have every reason to believe Three Dog Night fans are not going to be disappointed.

Three Dog Night appears at the Avalon Theatre in Grand Junction on September 29. Tickets go on sale, Friday, August 2 at Tickmaster.com and the Avalon Theatre box office.
