Safe2Tell, District 51's tip line, received a tip yesterday that a threat was made against Fruita Monument High School.

Authorities say the threat was made on social media and, thanks to that tip, were able to find the individual responsible for it.

While not going into details about the threat or the individual responsible for it, they did say that individual would not be attending classes today at the school.

Due to the tip, police were able to interview the person responsible and take a look at the post and, after doing so, determined there was no further threat to the school, faculty or students.

Despite that fact, there will be additional security around Fruita Monument High School this morning.

Because of the District's Safe2Tell tipline, the situation was ended before it began and no one was harmed. Safe2Tell is anonymous and you can access it by either downloading the app or calling 1-877-542-7233.
