Following weeks of sampling a variety of "darker" whiskeys, the guys from the mighty Desert Flyer Band decided to take a walk on the "ethereal" side and study the mysteries of Jim Beam's Jacob's Ghost White Whiskey.
"Jacob's Ghost" is a special white whiskey, aged for at least one year, using the time honored traditions of Jim Beam. The members of the Desert Flyer Band chose to sample the beverage on the rocks. However, "Jacob's Ghost" may be mixed like any clear spirit. As Jim Beam says, "In short, drink it any damn way you please."
The members of the Desert Flyer Band unanimously enjoyed the simple, clear taste. Following several weeks of, shall we say "specialty drinks," most of which were complex and over-flavored, the band thoroughly enjoyed the crisp simplicity of "Jacob's Ghost."
Unfortunately, the band's ability to appreciate the complete experience was somewhat compromised by the fact the only thing they had to drink out of were Spongebob Squarepants Dixie Cups.
This whiskey started out questionable. It was smooth, then developed a bit of a bite, but as we consumed more for some reason.... it got better, as did our sound. Hmmmmmm. Go figure. Turned out I liked it. I give it a rating of 3.5 "Dancing Bananas" out of 5." - Bob Sours  Vocal/Guitar
"Now this is the way a whiskey should taste. Simple. Clear. Crisp. No additional influences. A sharp, to the point whiskey taste, without the unnecessary overtones. A pleasure from start to finish. A solid 4 out of 5 Dancing Bananas." - Waylon Jordan  Bass
Jim Beam "Jacob's Ghost" can be purchased for an average price of $21.99.
