The suicide rate in Colorado is hight that's why lawmakers are considering a bill allowing children to seek psychological counseling without parental consent.

House Bill 1120 is being called the Youth Mental Health Education And Suicide Prevention Act. It hopes to prevent suicides among our youth by trying different approaches to prevent suicides including allowing kids as young as 12-years-old to meet with a psychologist or mental health expert without notifying their parents.

The bill would also require the department of education, in conjunction with the office of suicide prevention to create and maintain a mental health education literacy resource bank. The resource bank is available to the public free of charge.
