Springs Firefighter Arrested for Participation in Child Porn

Wow. This is so disturbing.

According to KRDO in Colorado Springs, 59-year-old Robert Patrick Stambaugh who has served with the Colorado Springs Fire Department as a Firefighter/Paramedic since 1986 was arrested yesterday, October 10 for sexual exploitation of a child, a class 3 felony.

Stambaugh is also the former chief of the Security Fire Department as well.

This is so unsettling to my heart. I’m an advocate for bringing awareness to the community about fighting against sex-trafficking, child abuse, and domestic violence.

I know that there are people of influence involved with vile activity such as this, but to hear a Firefighter/Paramedic being part of something so repulsive makes me ill.

The Colorado Springs Police Department was informed of the porn ring that was going by the Department of Homeland Security once authorities in North Carolina discovered an online group called Kik going on.

Since the investigation is still in the process, very little information has been released.

Stambaugh is currently being held without bond in the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.
