Situation at Gas Station Puts Fruita Schools on Lockdown, MCSO Says No Threat
Fruita Monument High School and Fruita 8/9 are on lockdown due to police activity in the area. The Mesa County Sheriff's Office says there's no threat to the schools.
A felony menacing situation at the Maverick Gas Station in Fruita put both the Fruita Monument High School and Fruita 8/9 on lockdown while police secure the area and try to locate the suspect.
The MCSO is currently working with the school district to maintain the student's safety in the area.
