McClelland's Scotch Whiskey may shatter and divide the Desert Flyer Band in much the same way Yoko Ono broke up the Beatles. The members of the Desert Flyer Band experience diverse reactions for this week's "Booze In Review."

McClelland's Single Malt Scotch Whiskey captures a sip of Scottland's Highlands, Lowlands, Speyside, and Islay. For today's review, the guys sample the Speyside selection. A not-so-subtle Pine taste unveils itself immediately. Oddly, this trademark taste is the very characteristic dividing the members of the band. Considerably more fragrant than comparable Scotch, McClelland's boasts a very leafy bouquet.

McClelland's can typically be found in the $36.99 range for the 1.75mL, a bit pricey next to comparable whiskeys.

I found this single male Scotch to have a somewhat smokey flavor and aftertaste I wasn't sure I liked at first. After letting it swish around in some ice for awhile and continuing to sip away I found myself liking it more and more! Unlike Waylon, I consider it very affordable for a single malt whiskey. I would say, if you like Scotch, this one probably isn't too bad. I'll give it three out of five dancing bananas." - Greg Achord guitar/vocals

"It sucked. Hate the Pine taste. Two and a half dancing bananas out of five." - Max McFarland / drums

"The Pine flavor is magnificent. Truly made this Scotch. A tad bit overbearing, but enjoyable for sipping. A solid three and a half dancing bananas out of five." - Waylon Jordan / bass
