Now that the Grand Junction Christmas tree has been lit there are a number of holiday activities right around the corner. Up next is the popular Parade of Lights in downtown Grand Junction on December 7th at 5 p.m. presented by the Bank of Colorado.

This year's theme is a "Comic Book Christmas" so be sure to grab your costume from Halloween or the one you may have worn to comic con, and roll it back out for the Christmas Parade. Not only do you get to come dressed as your favorite comic book characters, but you also get to enjoy the 100 lighted entries during this year's parade.

Before the parade gets underway remember all the window shopping that is available downtown prior to the parade. This works out great because chances are you will be downtown early to claim a great spot to sit and watch the fun.

The other thing to remember is that if you want to be able to hear the parade play-by-play, the hosts at the stage near 4th and Main will announce the floats as they appear along the parade route. This way, if you have friends or family or an organization appearing in the parade, you'll know exactly when to cheer.

The Grand Junction Christmas Parade will be followed one week later by the Fruita Parade of Lights, which will take place on December 14th at 5:30 p.m. followed by the Fruita Christmas Tree lighting at 6:30 p.m.
