A piece of rock and roll history is for sale right now in Grand Junction.

The only car ever owned by rock and roll legend Joe Cocker is for sale right now in Grand Junction - but that is only half the story.

In 1995, Joe bought this '95  Jaguar XJ12 from Peyton Cramer Jaguar in Torrance, California. He actually learned how to drive- in this car- and he owned it until his death in 2014.

According to current owner, Tom Kelley, when Joe Cocker was diagnosed with cancer in January of 2014, he willed the car to public radio station KVNF in Paonia. Cocker passed away on December 22, 2014, in Crawford at the age of 70.

The car was eventually put up for auction and purchased by Tom Kelley of Grand Junction. Tom told me he learned later that his winning bid came with just 7 seconds remaining in the on-line auction and his bid was just $5 higher than the next highest bidder. That was close.

The original sticker price on the Jaguar was $77,250 and it is definitely loaded.

Now Tom wants to sell the car, but he wants to keep it in western Colorado, where Joe Cocker was so prominent in his later years. With 33,000 original miles, the asking price is $31,000. Sounds like a great deal for a cool car - and a piece of rock and roll history.
