Eastern Colorado isn't exactly filled with exciting attractions, but Old Town Museum in Burlington is one attraction Colorado history buffs should check out.

The Old Town Museum sits on 6 1/2 acres at the edge of Burlington, visible from Interstate 70 as your drive past.

You will find 21 fully restored buildings that take you back to the turn of the century. Authentic artifacts and interactive exhibits provide great insight into Colorado pioneer life.

During the summer months, they have live gun fights in the saloon as well as a monthly Wild West Dinner Theater.  You can enjoy an ice cream treat in the emporium and shop for hand-crafted collectibles, gifts, and souvenirs.

Old Town is open year round from 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and noon to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays. Winter hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Admission to Old Town is $8 for adults, $4 for kids 12 to 17, $2 for children 3 to 11, and children under three are admitted free.

By the way,  Old Town is available for special events like weddings and reunions, so if you would like to have a wild west wedding, this might just be the place.
